More from the Garden

The summer weather that finally arrived last week has kick-started various bits and pieces that we have growing. We've had our first tomatoes - it's a cliche to say it, but there really is no tomato like one you've just picked, still warm from the greenhouse. We've had a bit of a problem with blossom end rot this year, partly because of the weather meaning that watering has been a bit too erratic. The good news about that (as well as it only affecting a few fruits) is that you can just chop off the manky bit on the end and still eat the rest of the tomato. The chillies are also doing well with the generally sunny weather - we've had to space them out a bit better too to make sure the air can circulate around them. And we have some very exciting looking little aubergines coming on, as you can see from the picture below...
